The final week of the 2025 LCK regular season continues on Thursday, August 28, with two best-of-three series. In the Rise Group, Dplus KIA stomped OKSavingsBank BRION 2-0, keeping DRX’s hopes alive for third place and a Play-In spot. In the Legend Group, it was no surprise that Gen.G bested KT Rolster, claiming their ninth straight win and bringing their yearly record to 28-1. This series didn’t change much for either team, who will remain first and fourth in their group, respectively.

As expected, DK dominated the Rise Group, actually first with eight wins and just three losses. Despite the roster’s struggles this year, Jeon "Siwoo" Si-woo and Choi "Lucid" Yong-hyeok seem to be regaining form, delivering another strong series today. In Game 1, Lucid’s performance on Jarvan IV was the key factor in his team’s victory, participating in 20 of the team’s 21 kills. The 20-year-old jungler secured his 100th LCK win, an important milestone in what promises to be a bright LCK journey. In Game 2, he shone on Trundle with a 5/0/10 line, while his toplaner also had a standout game on Rumble, scoring a solo kill and topping the damage charts.

Unstoppable Gen.G

The stat is remarkable: aside from Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok and T1, no one has been able to take down Gen.G this year. They sit at 28-1 in this LCK split and keep rolling. Today, against KT Rolster, they once again showed their dominance. In Game 1, Joo "Duro" Min-kyu played the first Pyke in the LCK in a year and a half, completely controlling the Summoner’s Rift. From botlane in the early game to mid and late game across the map, KT tried to fight back, with Moon "Cuzz" Woo-chan pulling off two steals on Atakhan and Baron Nashor, but nothing could stop Gen.G, who opened the series lead thanks to a botlane far ahead.

The second game played out in a similar manner. KT showed some early signs of life, but the Gen.G juggernaut quickly secured the match. Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon on Taliyah demonstrated his mastery, and Kim "Kiin" Gi-in delivered an impressive performance on Sion, earning him the BO MVP. With this win, Gen.G notches their ninth consecutive victory, further proving their dominance in the league and likely establishing themselves as the best team in the world at the moment.

There are three LCK days left before the end of the regular season. On Friday, DRX will have a chance to close the gap with BRO by trying to defeat BNK FearX, while in the Legend Group, HLE will play their final match of the year against Nongshim RedForce — a win would almost certainly secure them second place. On Saturday at 8 AM CET, T1 will face Gen.G, and a victory would lock in second place, though it won’t be easy. Finally, on Sunday, a crucial BO between DRX and BRO will likely determine which team plays in the Play-In, closing out the regular season.
