Xun returns, Elk leaves
After a season marked by highs and lows—and one that ended in profound disappointment—Bilibili Gaming could no longer afford to remain passive. The organization was forced to turn the page on a chapter of its history by parting ways with some key figures from its roster.
Despite winning the LPL Split 3, a team that appeared to have found its rhythm completely collapsed at Worlds, failing to advance beyond the Swiss Stage. After facing multiple issues throughout the season, the offseason became the moment to finally address a roster that no longer aimed merely to contend for LPL titles, but to build a lineup capable of dominating on the international stage.
An end to the jungle carousel?
If there is one role that caused recurring problems for BLG this year, it was the jungle. The team began the season with Yan "Wei" Yangwei, then switched to Yang "Beichuan" Ling, before eventually rotating between him and Zhao "Shadow" Zhiqiang. This lack of stability ultimately came at a high cost.
To put an end to this ongoing issue, Bilibili Gaming has decided to return to a player who previously contributed to its success. After missing out on Worlds this year with JD Gaming, Peng "XUN" Lixun makes his return to the team and will be the sole jungler going forward, as both Shadow and Beichuan depart the organization.
The LPL’s marquee signing
A mainstay of the roster since 2023—during the period when BLG emerged as one of China’s elite teams—Zhao "Elk" Jiahao is also leaving after three memorable seasons with the organization. Less dominant than in previous years, the botlane formed by Elk and Luo "ON" Wenjun has now come to an end.
Finding an AD carry capable of matching Elk’s level while offering greater consistency and proactivity was no easy task, yet BLG appears to have done just that by signing Park "Viper" Do-hyeon, who did not renew his contract with Hanwha Life Esports. The Korean AD carry returns to the LPL with BLG and will once again pursue domestic titles, having previously won the 2021 Summer Split with Edward Gaming before lifting the World Championship trophy later that year.
A new coach at the helm
Despite rumors of a possible departure, Zhuo "Knight" Ding will remain with the team next season, as will ON. Both players have extended their contracts with BLG through 2027. Chen "Bin" Zebin will complete the starting lineup in the toplane, while changes will take place within the coaching staff. After taking over as head coach prior to Split 3, Fu "BigWei" Chien-wei is leaving the organization, alongside his assistants Zuo "LvMao" Minghao and Lee "KaKAO" Byung-kwon.
In their place, BLG have appointed an experienced new head coach in Yang "Daeny" Dae-in. Renowned for his strong performances at Worlds—most notably winning the title with Damwon Gaming in 2020 and reaching the final with Weibo Gaming in 2023—Daeny most recently led Invictus Gaming. He now joins his third LPL team and will look to put a relatively underwhelming year behind him by guiding BLG toward greater success and additional titles next season.
