AEGIS remained active in the TFT and Street Fighter scenes
French esports organization AEGIS has announced that it will end its activities on December 31, 2025, marking the conclusion of a four-year adventure that began in Teamfight Tactics and expanded across multiple competitive scenes. A year ago, they had already announced their departure from the League of Legends competitive scene after a disastrous 2024 season that saw the team relegated to Div2 following a poor performance in the Up&Down tournament.
Founded in 2021 by content creators Alexis "DFG" Rodrigues, Xavier "MisterMV" Dang, and Kevin "Shaunz" Ghanbarzadeh, AEGIS quickly gained recognition for its mix of esports competition and community spirit. From its early beginnings in TFT, the team went on to compete in League of Legends, Street Fighter, and, more recently, chess, while organizing fan-driven events like the Shield Cup and the Aegis Fighting World.
In their farewell video, the founders explained that the decision was driven by financial constraints. Despite strong fan support and successful collaborations, the organization found it increasingly difficult to secure consistent sponsorship deals and sustain the business model required for long-term growth.
A natural and positive end to their four-year journey
“It’s not a failure,” they shared. “It’s the end of a chapter. We’re proud of what AEGIS became and of the people who helped shape it.” The team expressed heartfelt thanks to its fans, players, staff, and partners, praising the community for its positivity and loyalty across every title AEGIS embraced—from Riot’s ecosystems to the fighting game community.
AEGIS emphasized that the decision was made with maturity and transparency, ensuring all staff and players were informed ahead of the announcement. Thus, this decision also marks the end of their collaboration with several key figures, including Laurent "Pas de Bol" Cidere in TFT and Nathan "Mister Crimson" Massol in Street Fighter. The founders plan to address remaining questions and memories during upcoming livestreams, closing the project “on a high note.”
While the organization will dissolve, AEGIS’ impact—especially its effort to connect creators, fans, and esports under one banner—will remain a memorable part of the French esports landscape.
