A collaboration tailored for women’s esports
On Tuesday, Riot Games unveiled “GO OFF,” the music video and anthem for the 2025 VALORANT Game Changers Championship, performed by famous global girl group KATSEYE. The track is a reimagined version of their song “M.I.A - VALORANT Game Changers Version,” released alongside a cinematic video across all platforms. According to the press release, the intention is to translate into music the energy, confidence, and persistence that define the Game Changers ecosystem.
For KATSEYE, the connection was straightforward. Megan Skiendiel explains that the song already speaks about presenting “the best version of yourself,” a message that aligns closely with Game Changers and with players striving to establish themselves in the competitive scene. On Riot’s side, lead music supervisor Jonny Altepeter notes that the group’s dynamism and playful attitude made the partnership feel genuine rather than purely promotional.
An anthem for players
The “GO OFF” music video narrates stories of women around VALORANT who advance through resilience, while also illustrating how the community supports and uplifts one another within the Game Changers circuit. This approach is consistent with the program’s original purpose, launched in 2021 to offer visibility and create entry points for women in esports, following earlier editions in Berlin and São Paulo and anthems such as “All Eyes On Me” and “The Drive.” The 2025 edition will conclude from November 28 to 30 at LoL Park in Seoul.
KATSEYE, for their part, did not emerge from a traditional TV talent show but from the international The Dream Academy program launched by HYBE and Geffen in 2023, which selected the six members from 120,000 applicants before chronicling their training in the Netflix series KATSEYE: Pop Star Academy. The group has since been presented as “the first global girl group formed using K-pop artist development methodologies,” which explains both their performance standards and their ability to adapt to an international gaming universe.
