f4ngeer is joining VCT after a year with KCBS
The young Russian talent Roman "f4ngeer" Smirnov is expected to join All Gamers in VCT China next year, sources tell Sheep Esports. The player will make his VCT debut after a season spent in VCL France with Karmine Corp Blue Stars.
He will be the first recruit of the Chinese organization during this offseason. The team that has still not managed to qualify for an international event is picking up a promising profile whose preferred role is the team's duelist.
First experience in VCT
Accustomed to VALORANT competitions despite his young age (18 years old), f4ngeer was competing for the first time in VCL this year with KCBS. This team aimed to be the academy of Karmine Corp, playing in the French league. f4ngeer's profile had attracted the team after a short tournament played with them at the Spotlight Series EMEA.
For his first year in the VCL, his performances have been very satisfactory. With his team, they reach the final of the French league at Stage 2 and participate in the Challengers EMEA. f4ngeer particularly shines in his role as a duelist. His most played champion is Yoru, on whom he delivers his best performances.
Promising profile to help a struggling team?
For his first year in VCT, he will be joining a team that has struggled to make a mark on the Chinese scene since its entry. All Gamers has had a difficult year with no BO3 wins at Kickoff and Stage 1. In Stage 2, the team progresses and finishes second in the Omega group but fails to maintain their position in the playoffs.
In total, only JD Gaming will have earned fewer Championship Points in the region over the entire year. All Gamers will therefore be looking to take a step forward in VCT next year with the recruitment of a young prospect. If f4ngeer retains his duelist role, he could potentially replace Xin "Spitfires" Mingyang, the team's duelist in 2024 and who returned to All Gamers for Stage 2 this year.
