Monsteer has been promoted to the main roster in VCT EMEA
Ondřej "MONSTEERR" Petrů has reached a verbal agreement with KOI to join their VCT EMEA roster, according to Sheep Esports sources. The Czech player steps up to the main team after just a few months with KOI Fenix in VCL Spain. The date of his debut with the VCT roster has yet to be determined.
A promising player
After spending the first two years of his career in the Tier-C scene, he joined Team Heretics in 2021, competing in the VCT 2021: Europe Stage 3 Challengers 2 Qualifier. He later signed with Acend, where he won both Split 1 and Split 2 of the VALORANT Challengers 2023 East: Surge, narrowly missing VCT promotion after falling to Gentle Mates in the Ascension tournament. In 2025, the player joined KOI Fenix in VCL, reaching the semifinals in Split 1 and winning Split 2 with a finals victory over UCAM Esports.
KOI struggles
So far, 2025 hasn’t been kind to KOI, and changes seem necessary. After a rough start in the VCT 2025: EMEA Kickoff—losing back-to-back against Team Liquid and Gentle Mates—the team struggled again in Stage 2 group play, falling four times and securing just a single win, falling short of a playoffs spot.
To address the situation, KOI haven’t waited to make moves. As previously reported by Sheep Esports, Simone "simoz" Giovannini became the team’s new head coach for the 2025 VCT EMEA season, and Kamil "baddyG" Graniczka has also reached a verbal agreement to join KOI for the upcoming VCT EMEA Stage 2. With these changes, KOI hope to finally find the missing pieces to perform at the level expected by the club and its fans.
