Shopify Rebellion Gold have done history again. On Tuesday, the all-women North American roster took on TSM in their second regular season match of the VALORANT Challengers League North America and secured a 2-1 victory. With this result, SRG becomes the first Game Changers team ever to win a match in a Challengers League. Even though they weren't supposed to take part in this VCL NA split, SRG's players made history with this victory.

The match didn’t start in their favor. Despite picking Corrode as their map, the reigning Game Changers world champions fell 4-13. While Sarah "sarah" Simpson had a strong individual showing and Karnthida "dodonut" Chaisrakeo pulled off an ace in Round 6, the map was largely dictated by Alvin "alvinboy" Hong, who ended the opener with a commanding 21/7/10 KDA.

The Rebellion begins

But Shopify weren’t done yet. The team bounced back on Icebox, TSM’s map pick, a battleground where SRG had already shown flashes of brilliance against Envy earlier in the split. This time, they followed through, closing out the map 13-10. The duel between Timothée "Timotino" Lavigne Dupont and sarah stole the show, with the two finishing 29/17/5 and 26/16/7 respectively. Other standout moments included a huge 3K by Alexis "alexis" Guarrasi in Round 18, and Nicole "Noia" Tierce coming up clutch in multiple 1v1 scenarios, cementing her reputation as one of the most reliable players under pressure.

The decider took place on Haven, and once again, Shopify Rebellion Gold prevailed by sealing the map 13-10 and the series 2-1. Despite another excellent performance from Timotino, who earned an ace in round 3 to secure the bonus round, TSM couldn’t hold off the momentum of SRG. Stepping up when it mattered most, In-Game Leader Melanie "meL" Capone delivered a strong performance with a 24/17/10 KDA, guiding her team to their first-ever win in Tier 2. sarah earned the MVP for her remarkable consistency across all three maps, capping off a series that was not just a victory, but a moment of history.

Not the First time making history

This isn’t unfamiliar territory for Shopify Rebellion Gold as they’ve made a habit of writing the VALORANT history books. The squad became the first team to win the Game Changers World Championship back-to-back, taking home the trophy in São Paulo (2023) and then again in Berlin (2024). The latter confirmed the roster golden era in 2024, winning every Game Changers splits and qualified for North America’s Tier 2 Challengers League — the first time a full women’s roster had achieved this feat.

However, their first split in Challengers NA proved challenging. SRG ended the stage with a 0-4 record and failed to survive the promotion/relegation tournament and effectively losing their spot.

Fate, however, had other plans. When several teams were unable to register a roster for Stage 3, Shopify Rebellion Gold were given a second chance and they’ve capitalized on it in the most iconic way possible, scoring their first-ever Challengers League win against TSM.
