The name of the next
VALORANT map is likely to be
Corrode, according
to several leaks that surfaced on Friday, June 20, on X (formerly Twitter). Regardless of its final name, the map is set to be officially revealed on June 22, 2025, during a showmatch held ahead of the
Masters Toronto Grand Final, featuring content creators like Tyson “TenZ” Ngo and Tarik “Tarik” Celik. Riot Games has already confirmed that the new map will enter
the competitive rotation starting June 24, with the launch of Episode 4 – 2025 Season // Act IV.
Corrode is reportedly set in France, in an old fortress heavily inspired by Mont Saint-Michel, located on Omega Earth (like Lotus and Pearl). According to rumors, the location—repurposed as a Radianite Salt mine—blends medieval architecture with modern industrial infrastructure. Gameplay-wise, the map is said to feature a basic three-lane layout, with two Spike Sites.
Corrode would thus be the twelfth map to join the map pool and will be the first addition since Abyss, which was released a year earlier in June 2024. It is also the second French element added to the game, after Chamber’s arrival on November 16, 2021. It is highly likely that the release of this map is linked to the fact that the next Champions, the VALORANT World Championship, will take place in Paris starting next September.
