BK ROG Esports will have two players from the Arabian League, Boda and Sayn
Talented players from a relatively unknown region continue to make their mark in the LFL. Tarek "Sayn" Djoghlaf is set to join BK ROG Esports in the Ligue Française de League of Legends (LFL), sources tell Sheep Esports on Monday. The Algerian midlaner competed this year with Izi Dream in LFL Division 2 and even reached the Summer Split finals.
He will therefore become the third player coming from the Arabian League to compete in the LFL next year, alongside Waleed "Dekap" Mohammed Ismail, who was re-signed by Vitality.Bee, and Mohamed "Boda" Yahia, who is also joining BK ROG Esports. Sayn now joins them.
Before his time with Izi Dream, he played in the AL with Fox Gaming during Summer 2024. In Spring, he won Division 2 of the same league with the Moroccan team Twareg Esports. Sayn recently won €10,000 after finishing first in the Solo Queue Challenge, an event organized by French streamer Jean "Trayton" Medzadourian.
A Change of Direction for BK ROG’s Midlane Plan
BK ROG initially aimed for a veteran profile in midlane and attempted to sign players such as Lucas "SAKEN" Fayard, Jérémy "Eika" Valdenaire, and Daniel "Sertuss" Gamani. The idea was to surround their rookie top/jungle duo with an experienced presence.
However, with the eventual choices of Jeykup and Boda, who are very vocal rookies, BK ROG determined that bringing in a veteran midlaner was no longer a necessity. The organisation therefore held tryouts featuring rising talents Sayn, Romain "Kuroneel" Poilane, and Tautvydas "Toffe" Gegeckas, prioritising a midlaner capable of managing his lane independently to create space for the team’s jungle/support duo.
Initially, BK ROG considered a potential issue: Sayn was not available full-time, which could have been a deal-breaker. But with Boda set to undergo mandatory military service until at least March—making him unavailable for on-site activities—the concern became irrelevant.
As a result, BK ROG chose the player who best matched what they were looking for on paper and who they believed had the strongest developmental upside. Financial factors also played a role: the organisation could not match the salary expectations of some veterans while still securing one of their preferred AD Carries—a reveal that will come later.
An Almost Complete Roster
As previously reported by Sheep Esports, Boda will be the toplaner for BK ROG Esports. He will be joined by Turkish jungler Yakup "Jeykup" Enes Ermişer, while Mads "Doss" Schwartz has been retained in the support role. Only an AD Carry is still missing. The lineup will be coached by Jonathan "just jon" Ellis, Head Coach of NORD Esports in 2025 and previously Solary.
The Arabian League is steadily sending more talent abroad. Sayn becomes the next player to reach the LFL after Dekap and Boda. Visa hurdles have often complicated moves, and players from the region tend to be less visible within the EMEA ecosystem due to distance. Still, both Boda and Sayn may avoid relocating to France, as BK ROG Esports will not operate a gaming house in 2025.
