G2 must finish in the top 3 of the Season Finals for the BDS - FNC match to qualify for the 2024 Worlds
Fnatic and BDS are most likely one Best-of-Five away from Worlds 2024. Indeed, as the Season Finals - the last League of Legends meeting of the best teams throughout the year in the EMEA region - kick off this Saturday, the winning team of this match has high chances to be rewarded with more than a guaranteed third place and some games on stage at the Munich Olympic Hall. With G2 Esports already qualified for Worlds, after their victory over the Summer Split, the Samurai will have to give their second qualification spot for the international stage to their runner-up, if they get at least a second place at the Season Finals.
With MDK falling short at the 8th place this summer, it is more than likely G2 that will come out on top of their match, this Sunday. If the Samurais do so, then they would be at least at the third place of the Season Finals. Which means either the top 2 teams (without G2 in it) earn their tickets to Worlds, or G2 get in the top 2, and the third place team will get, by power of attorney, the second spot earned by the Summer Champion. So, if the Samurais actually win on Sunday, then the winner of Saturday is guaranteed to come back to Berlin for the Swiss Stage of Worlds 2024, in October.
