Seven years ago to the day, Uzi and RNG won the 2018 MSI
Following the official announcement of Jian "Uzi" Zi-Hao's induction into the Hall of Legends, the legendary AD Carry shared a heartfelt message expressing his joy at the news. He reflected on his emotions and feelings about his long and passionate career — celebrating his achievements, like the MSI 2018 title, but also acknowledging his regrets, with the biggest one being that he never managed to win Worlds.
First, Uzi pointed out that this great news comes exactly seven years to the day after his victory with Royal Never Give Up at the 2018 MSI in Paris. He then took a moment to reflect on one of the most painful memories of his career — the 2017 World Championship semifinal loss against SKT T1 and Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok, a player often regarded as his longtime rival. Uzi also opened up about his struggles with pressure, admitting it was something he actively tried to improve over the years. But no matter the trophies won or the honors received, his biggest regret will always be never winning Worlds: "Even now, thinking about it still hurts."
Before becoming the global icon he is today, Uzi reminded everyone that he was once just a kid sneaking into internet cafe to play the game he loved. Years later, that passion for League of Legends still burns strong — as does his hunger for victory.
He concluded his message by thanking his family, former teammates, coaches, and his parents — all the people who supported him throughout his journey and helped push him to become the best version of himself. He also expressed his deep gratitude to the fans who stood by him and whom he’s inspired throughout — and even beyond — his career.
Indeed, Uzi hasn't only inspired fans but also generations of professional players who grew up admiring his gameplay, seeing him as a role model and the kind of player they all dreamed of becoming one day. Uzi is a true legend of the game, and League of Legends will soon honor him with special skins and in-game content. He is without question one of the greatest of all time — and always will be.
