KCBS currently holds a 2–4 record in the Summer Split
Karmine Corp Blue Stars will take to the Rift this weekend with a slightly modified roster for Week 3 of the LFL Division 2 Summer Split. The organization announced on Tuesday that Teddy "Sunfry" Falconnet will temporarily replace Emilien "Nsurr" Gergaud in the support position for their upcoming matches against IziDream and Project Conquerors (PCS). The organization did not provide a specific reason for this temporary substitution in what are set to be two significant encounters—first against the league leaders, IziDream, and then against one of the three teams currently tied for second place: PCS, Caldya Esport, and Esprit Shônen, all of whom hold 4–2 records.
KCBS, by contrast, has had a slower start to the split. At the midway point of the regular season, the club’s second academy team sits in sixth place with two wins and four losses—just outside the top four required to reach the playoffs. While winning the title in France’s second division is not the team’s primary aim, KCBS is committed to player development and talent cultivation, a focus that has seen them miss the playoffs in both of the previous splits.
Comfortable on Engage Supports
Sunfry’s opportunity is consistent with the team’s broader commitment to discovering and developing emerging talent. The French support player is still relatively new to the European scene. After competing in the Nexus Tour — the French third division — in 2024, he joined ERL1 at the start of the year, signing with GLORE in the Hitpoint Masters. His debut was promising—GLORE finished fourth overall in a field of 20 teams.
However, Sunfry’s stay in the Czech league was short-lived. He moved to Lundqvist Lightside in the NLC during the Spring Split, though the experience proved less successful, with the team finishing 9–10. He returned to the Nexus Tour in June with CICADAS Gaming, and now finds himself granted a temporary spot in LFL Division 2. Currently sitting at 938 LP in Grandmaster, he peaked at 1200 LP last season.
A historical Thresh main, Sunfry’s three most-played SoloQ champions this season are all engage supports: Alistar, Nautilus, and Rell. The latter is also among his two most frequently picked champions in competitive play this year—appearing in five of his 26 official matches—alongside Rakan.
