This will be the second batch of LEC emotes, following the first released in 2024
On September 22, the League of Legends EMEA Championship announced the release of new emotes for all ten LEC teams. This is the second batch following the first, which was launched in the second half of 2024 and applied to the seven Tier 1 leagues of the Riot Games circuit. Last year, 30% of emote sales went directly to the teams. Priced at 350 RP, or about €2, each emote earns teams €0.7 per sale.
Emotes are also expected to be released in other regions, particularly in LTA South and North, where several teams have already showcased theirs. FlyQuest revealed one featuring a minion lifting the LTA trophy, Vivo Keyd Stars presented an Ezreal emote mimicking a well-known celebration, while both Cloud9 and Dignitas have also shared theirs. It therefore seems likely that emotes will return across all major regions, although nothing has yet been announced for the three Asian leagues.
Team-branded emotes
In an article published by Sheep Esports last December, the emote sales rankings by team were released, and unsurprisingly, Karmine Corp came out far ahead with their "Jinx FF" emote. This year, the French club is continuing in the same vein with a new emote, "Loser Queue." G2 Esports have an emote referencing their habit of "burger flipping" games on objectives late in matches.
Team Heretics created an emote featuring Draven performing Victor "Flakked" Lirola's celebration. All teams have their own emotes with a nod to their club, except Team BDS, where the club is unrecognizable—potentially due to the upcoming rebranding—and Natus Vincere, who only feature a crying Ezreal.
Interesting financial opportunities
These emotes, which are released in-game and can be purchased by fans, represent real financial opportunities—not only for Riot Games but also for the clubs. This is part of a broader economic policy launched by the LoL publisher to strengthen team finances by giving them a share of sales from Worlds skins, emotes, battle passes, and more. This allows teams to replenish their funds and diversify their revenue streams.
