Knight holds the record for most solo kills in a single split with 35 in LPL 2021 Summer
Bilibili Gaming midlaner Zhuo "Knight" Ding became the most decorated player in League of Legends Pro League history on Sunday, September 21. He claimed his sixth LPL title after a fierce BO against Top Esports. His first came in Summer 2020 while playing for Top Esports, before joining JD Gaming and winning both splits in 2023. He later moved to BLG, where he secured both titles in 2024 and now the Summer Split of this year.
Just a few days ago, Knight was tied in LPL titles with two other league legends, jungler Ming "Clearlove" Kai and fellow midlaner Li "Xiaohu" Yuanhao, both holding five each. Now, Knight stands alone at the top as the most decorated player in LPL history. Knight began his career in 2017 in the LSPL with Young Miracles. In early 2018, he briefly joined Suning before moving to Top Esports alongside toplaner Bai "369" Jia-Hao, with whom he would spend a large part of his career. He spent four years there, playing his first Worlds and winning his first LPL title in Summer 2020.
JDG’s super roster
In 2023, he reunited with 369 at JD Gaming in their superteam built around Seo "'Kanavi" Jin-hyeok, former world champion Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk arriving from the LCK, and Lou "MISSING" Yun-Feng. The roster completely dominated the LPL, winning both splits and the Mid-Season Invitational. With Worlds seemingly destined for them, they were stopped in the semifinals by his Korean rival Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok and T1, a bitter defeat that pushed Knight to join BLG in 2024.
That year with BLG, he captured the fourth and fifth titles of his career and reached the MSI final, falling to Gen.G. Alongside Chen "Bin" Ze-Bin, he formed one of the most feared solo lane duos to this day. Despite once again losing to T1 at Worlds, this time in the grand final, Knight established himself as a cornerstone for BLG.
Worlds at home in front of his home crowd
The 2025 season hasn’t been easy, with multiple changes in the jungle role—a position whose synergy with mid is crucial—but BLG have shown resilience and remain strong contenders for Worlds. The Summoner’s Cup is still the one trophy missing from Knight’s cabinet, and winning it could finally cement his place in the pantheon of the greatest players in League of Legends history.
Starting the year with Yan "Wei" Yang-Wei, followed by the arrivals of Yang "Beichuan" Ling and Zhao "Shad0w" Zhi-Qiang, who alternated during Split 3 to finally secure a title—the most important split of the year and the LPL Dragon Cup. Knight will now attend his fifth Worlds, and his second at home after competing in 2020 with TES. The tournament hasn’t been played in front of a home crowd in China since 2017, when Samsung Galaxy won the final at Beijing’s Bird’s Nest.
