Gwen buffs from the last patch have been reverted
The League of Legends 25.21 Patch Notes are here. Following the official schedule, Patch 25.21 is expected to drop on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. It’s the Worlds patch, bringing the final major adjustments from Riot Games on the eve of the year’s most prestigious competition.
This patch makes midlane "more active" by lowering the power of Second Wind, Doran’s Shield, and Catalyst. Gwen’s last update is mostly undone after missing the mark according to Riot, while Qiyana is hit with more nerfs, especially in the jungle.
Yunara’s W and E are reworked to make her easier to play and less one-dimensional. Yone gets small buffs to make up for the sustain item nerfs, while Dr. Mundo is adjusted to feel less annoying without losing much power. Graves gets back some bruiser power, and Bard’s AP builds are improved to match his tank setups.

"Systems
- This patch seeks to make Mid lane in particular a bit more interactive through nerfs to second wind, dorans shield, a small nerf to Catalyst (we still like it being strong as a situational option for typically immobile mages to hold off Assassins/Skirmishers)
- We acknowledge that this is probably going to require some follow up adjustments to Top lane lane dominant champions, and we're starting with a pre-emptive nerf to Quinn
- We wanted to be cautious as these changes would have wide ranging impacts for the playoffs metas and so feel more comfortable making these changes now
Gwen
- Despite our best efforts, our Gwen changes haven't had the effect we desired
- So we're going to be reverting the vast majority of the Gwen changes - We wanted to apologize for the Gwen community for the whiplash over the changes
Qiyana
- Qiyana has still been posting a bit too strong numbers in Elite in both Jungle and Mid, so we're tapping her down a bit more (Jungle especially more so)
- Our changes nerf her repeated farming speed a little bit (Q does a lot more damage to Monsters)
- But otherwise, she's brought a lot of life back into the jungle
Yunara
- While Yunara has still been relatively popular in higher levels of play on her current tuning, we're wanting to embrace some of the parts of her kit that are a little underwhelming
- The changes this patch attempt to try to make W max 2nd a more reasonable way to play her that makes her a bit less binary
- Secondly, we're changing E from being a decaying movespeed buff to be static
- Both of these changes are intended to make her a little easier to play, while still keeping the top end pop off moments that she's known for
Yone
- Yone has been a little worse for wear for regular players and DShield Second Wind was the main thing that was keeping him up
- With those items being nerfed, we're buffing Yone up a bit
Dr Mundo
- Mundo is showing up frequently in our frustration surveys as the most or at least one of the most frustrating champions
- He sports a pretty average winrate and a pretty shallow mastery curve, so isn't overpowered, but players have been pretty frustrated by him
- We're making some power neutral adjustments to make his late game bonking a little less oppressive, but in return he'll be able to go where he pleases a little better
Graves
- Graves is much more popular in China than rest of the World, but despite that, his popularity elsewhere has taken quite a bit of a drop
- We're looking to add back one of the feelsgood changes that make him a little more general and bruisery as without it, he's not able to hit the thresholds to play some of those bruisery builds
Bard
- Bard's tanky builds have been the norm for quite a while, we're making his AP builds slightly more viable
- While we don't hate that he's building Deadman's Plate (he does love running around a lot), it would be nice if AP was a bit better on him"
