Per sources, the coaching staff has been extended for two years
Results speak for themselves. On Tuesday, G2 Esports announced the contract extensions of three members of the coaching staff: Head Coach Dylan Falco and his two assistants, Rodrigo "Rodrigo" Oliveira and Ismael “Isma” Pedraza. The organization also announced that the team’s long-standing General Manager, Romain Bigeard, would continue his tenure with the most decorated team in European history.
While G2 publicly described the deal as “multi-year,” sources close to Sheep Esports indicate that each has been extended for two years. According to the Global Contract Database, the contracts of Dylan Falco and Rodrigo were due to expire in November; the agreements of Isma and Romain Bigeard are not listed. "I really enjoy being here, and honestly, I don't see myself at another team besides G2," Rodrigo said to Sheep Esports a few weeks ago.
Dylan Falco, Rodrigo, and Romain Bigeard all joined G2 in December 2021. Since then, the trio’s partnership with the organization has flourished. By 2022, the new staff had already restored G2 to the top of the LEC after a 2021 season dominated by MAD Lions. However, the German organization had not yet fully reasserted its supremacy, with Rogue sweeping the 2022 Summer Split final 3-0.
A Winning Machine, but Also a Development Hub
From 2023 onward, with the addition of Isma, G2 became an unstoppable force. In the first year of the three-split format, the team claimed two of three splits as well as the Regional Finals. The following season, G2 went even further. In 2024, the coaching staff made the rare decision in esports to retain the same roster, and the gamble paid off. The team achieved the domestic Golden Road, winning every LEC trophy available.
Despite their exceptional résumé and unchallenged dominance in Europe, G2’s coaching staff failed to secure international titles over the past two years. In response, the staff took a bold step ahead of 2025 by reshaping what was already a finely tuned roster. G2 recruited rookie jungler Rudy “SkewMond” Semaan and rising support Labros “Labrov” Papoutsakis.
Although these moves were met with skepticism, the steady progression of both recruits throughout the season demonstrated the staff’s ability to transform promising players into winners. After falling short in the Winter and Spring finals, G2 stormed through the Summer Split.
“Isma, our performance coach, helped me and helped all the players to improve their mindset, their mentality, their routine, almost everything in my life—what kind of food I eat and my routine in general,” SkewMond told Sheep Esports ahead of Worlds. By daring to make changes in pursuit of international success, G2 arrives at Worlds 2025 with legitimate ambitions to finally surpass its recent record, having failed to progress beyond the Swiss Stage in the last two editions.
