Four trophies out of four competitions, all finals won 3-0
There’s domination, and then there’s Los Ratones. This Saturday, the British organization founded by popular streamer Marc “Caedrel” Lamont reminded everyone why they wear the crown. In the grand final of the EMEA Masters Spring 2025, they dismantled Barça Esports with a cold-blooded 3-0 sweep, securing their second consecutive EMEA Masters title, becoming only the second organization to pull a back-to-back after Karmine Corp.
Los Ratones have lifted four trophies in just six months, an almost surreal feat for a team born in late 2024. Their record this year? 28 wins out of 31 matches. Their gameplay is not just clean, it’s surgical. And the final was the latest exhibition.
An unprecedented domination
Once seen as underdogs — remember, Barça had crushed them in their second group-stage match — Los Ratones came into the playoffs with something to prove. That loss, rather than cracking them, seemed to awaken a monster. From quarterfinals to finals, they only dropped two games to BoostGate Esports in quarters, steamrolling through BK ROG in semis before serving Barça their revenge — on a silver platter.
At the heart of this machine stands Tim “Nemesis” Lipovšek, who was simply unplayable in the final. His Xerath pick in Game 3 — unorthodox, unexpected, and devastating — ended in a flawless 11/0/12 performance that crowned him MVP of the tournament. The midlaner’s dominance across the series was a masterclass in control, tempo, and unshakable poise. Next to him, Martin “Rekkles” Larsson continued his quiet destruction, a veteran presence as elegant as it is lethal. Together, the two former LEC stars anchored a roster that feels more Tier-1 than Tier-2.
Caedrel, grinning post-match, put it bluntly: “It was a 3-0, bro. I didn’t even have to stress.” It’s hard to argue with him. This isn’t just a winning team; it’s a winning culture. One built fast, but built to last. Now, the question echoes across the scene: Who can stop Los Ratones, and what is the next step for such a dominating team? They still have a split to win in the NLC and another EMEA Masters tournament in Summer to win, to conclude a feat that has never been seen before: a golden road in the ERL. This could be the greatest sign that the ecosystem needs a bridge between the LEC and the ERLs.
