The three players recently played the Iberian Cup with Barça
Barça eSports will retain three players who were temporarily on their roster for the upcoming season. The toplaner Eric "selenex" Lozano Gutiérrez, the jungler Luis "Koldo" Pérez, and the midlaner Sergio "Macaquiño" Bouzende Rodrigues will be part of the Catalan team's roster next season, sources tell Sheep Esports on Wednesday.
The three players had joined Barça on the occasion of the Iberian Cup 2025 that took place this month. Barça eSports had formed an unprecedented team for the occasion with these three players who will remain within the squad for another year in the Superliga.
Brand new team after a great year
After a very good year overall, Barça eSports has made the decision to change a large part of its roster for the upcoming season. All the players on the roster were free to explore their options despite their good performances throughout the year.
The team started with a final in the winter split before winning the spring split a few months later. The team played in the EMEA Masters in each split, however, they lost in the final against Los Ratones. Despite a dip in form during the summer split, the team still reached the round of 16 in the EMEA Masters finals and was eliminated by Galions.
Matti "WhiteKnight" Sormunen is still LFT, while Doğukan "113" Balcı has joined Misa Esports and Paweł "Czekolad" Szczepanik is going to join Joblife. The three newcomers played the Iberian Cup with Barça but were eliminated in the first match in the quarterfinals.
Macaquiño and selenex played for Guasones Team last year and had a season opposite to that of Barça eSports, finishing ninth in the winter split and then tenth in the following two splits. They still won their promotion tournament to keep the team in the Superliga.
Koldo played part of the season with UCAM Esports Club before joining Veni Vidi Vici for the Superliga Finals. He will play his eighth season in the Superliga with a new club. The new players will try to match the year that Barça eSports had this season.
