After Saigon Buffalo and Team Secret Whales, Taki joins the third team of his career, GAM Esports
On Monday, GAM Esports announced the arrival of their new support, Đinh "Taki" Anh Tài, for the 2026 season. The 22-year-old Vietnamese support is coming off a strong year with Team Secret Whales, with whom he played his second Worlds just a month ago. He now steps in to replace Phạm "Elio" Thạch Nhân Băng, who spent the past two years with the team.
GAM and Taki is a combination that immediately makes sense: he’s a strong player, a fan-favorite personality, and his very aggressive playstyle fits perfectly with GAM. The team is coming off a year below expectations and has just lost its captain and franchise star, jungler Đỗ "Levi" Duy Khánh, who retired.
Bounce Back after an Uneven Year
This year, GAM missed Worlds for the first time since 2021, finishing a season well below the club’s usual standards. A league typically dominated by them or PSG Talon saw a fresh breeze with CTBC Flying Oyster, who swept everything throughout the year — and GAM paid the price, failing to qualify for both the First Stand and Worlds.
At the Season Kickoff, the team finished fourth behind CFO, TALON, and MGN Vikings Esports. Their best result came in Mid Season, where they reached the finals against CFO, earning themselves a ticket to both the Mid-Season Invitational and the Esports World Cup. They failed to make it out of the Play-In stage at both events. In Summer, they placed fourth again, getting knocked out by Taki’s team, TSW, and missing Worlds. For the first time since 2020, GAM ended the year without winning a split.
The Support of the Year
Taki began his career in 2020 with Saigon Buffalo, winning the VCS Promotion Tournament with them. The following year, he made his first international appearances at MSI and Worlds. In Summer 2023, he joined Team Secret, where he played alongside Trần "Hiro02" Lê Trung Hậu for the first time; the duo went on to compete at Worlds that year.
In 2025, Taki was the team’s metronome, the player through whom TSW’s plays flowed. It was largely thanks to him that the team made a deep run in the LCP Summer Split and qualified for Worlds. When the league announced its Team of the Year, three of the five players were from CFO, with the exceptions being Trần "Kiaya" Duy Sang in the toplane and Taki in the support role.
