LoL: BDS and Heretics grab their third win of the LEC split, G2 lose their undefeated streak

Heretics and BDS secure a crucial third win in six matches

Week 4 of the LEC marks Vitality's downfall. As the playoff race becomes clearer, the Bees fall 0-2 to Team Heretics, while G2 Esports lose their undefeated streak, stumbling 0-2 against Team BDS. Both the Swiss and Heretics have now won three games and are in a good spot to be in the top six of the league. The Samurais, with fewer games played so far this split, are brought back down to earth and now sit behind Fnatic and Karmine Corp in the standings.

    An unexpected day

Vitality still hasn’t recaptured the form they showed in Week 1. Despite promising performances from their rookies and a roster change swapping out Zdravets "Hylissang" Galabov for Yasin "Nisqy" Dinçer, the Bees continue to struggle, suffering a tough 0-2 loss to direct playoff rivals Team Heretics. Now with just one win in four games, every match ahead is crucial, starting with Movistar KOI on Monday 21th. The rest of their schedule doesn’t get any easier, with G2, KC, SK Gaming, and BDS still to come in the next three weeks. Heretics continue to confirm their rise in form, notably thanks to the plays set up by Théo "Sheo" Borile. They currently hold fourth place in the LEC standings.

The Swiss squad, also sitting in fourth place, took a strong step toward playoff qualification by upsetting G2 with a 2-0 victory. Better prepared than their opponents, they dominated the early game in Game 1 and were more proactive in the midgame, then outscaled G2 in Game 2—thanks mainly to Ilias "nuc" Bizriken's Viktor and Doğukan "113" Balcı’s unleashed Xin Zhao. While it’s not quite time to sound the alarm, it was a solid reality check for G2, who had been undefeated and looking dominant since the start of the split. They remain near the top of the standings with a 3-1 record, while BDS also holds three wins, but from six games.

Week 4 of the LEC wraps up tomorrow and could seal Rogue’s fate if they suffer another loss. They'll face SK Gaming in a must-win match at 5 PM CET, while Vitality will look to bounce back against Movistar KOI, who are coming off two consecutive wins.
