Early Access for early October
On Tuesday, September 23, Riot Games officially announced the arrival of 2XKO, its 2v2 fighting game inspired by League of Legends and Arcane, which will enter Early Access on October 7, 2025. The game will be available for free on PC with no access code required, marking the launch of its Season 0. This milestone comes only two weeks after the beta release, which allowed countless new players to get their hands on the title and gave the esports scene its very first steps forward.
This new phase will also introduce the 10th playable champion, available right from day one, along with the game’s first full version that includes a Battle Pass, cosmetic content, and a structured progression system. Players will also be able to explore the "Combo Trials", a step-by-step training mode designed to help them practice each champion’s combos across various difficulty levels.
Focus on esport
Another important detail for those planning to jump in on October 7 is that all progress and content unlocked during Early Access will remain permanently tied to player accounts, with no reset when the game officially launches. Looking further ahead, Riot has already revealed its long-term roadmap: starting in 2026, the game will follow a schedule of five seasons per year, with each one bringing a brand-new champion and exclusive content to keep the experience fresh.
At the same time, Riot is introducing First Impact, a competitive initiative meant to kickstart the game’s esports ecosystem and support the grassroots community, fighting games works very differently from LoL. Nearly 22 tournaments across North America, Europe, and Asia will receive direct funding from Riot before the end of 2025. Each event will feature a bonus prize pool, while the winning duos will not only earn an additional $2,500 but also claim an exclusive in-game title: Local Legend. The very first Riot-supported tournament will be EVO France, held in Nice from October 10 to 12.
