Riftbound: Radiance
gives us another card to talk about. Our latest exclusive reveal is a Mind Rune — the blue rune — featuring an alternative art that takes a quieter approach to the set’s musical theme. The artwork shows music sheets, scattered notes, and piano keys across a musician’s desk, making us feel like we're right there with the artists composing the song.
This alternative art feels like
a natural fit for Radiance, the fifth set of
Riftbound and the final set of the year. But, compared to other cards, rather than placing a performer directly under the stage lights, the artwork takes us behind the scenes, with the music sheets showing the creative process that happens before the performance begins. As music is such an important part of the set’s identity, the Mind Rune artwork centered on the process of creating music feels right at home.
Music takes center stage in Radiance
With Radiance, Riftbound is turning its attention toward music, performance, and the energy of being on stage. Several Champions already confirmed for the set fit that direction particularly well, including Seraphine, Evelynn, Ekko, and Ziggs. Radiance will release worldwide on October 23rd, with previews running from September 25th through October 9th. The set will contain 180 cards, including 66 Showcase cards, and will introduce a new Ultimate Rare that has yet to be revealed.
Alongside booster packs and displays, Radiance will launch Riftbound’s second Showdown Decks featuring Seraphine and Evelynn, a starter-friendly product containing two 56-card preconstructed Champion decks, two booster packs, two playmats and the rulebook. A Pre-Rift period will run from October 16th through October 22nd, giving players a chance to get familiar with Radiance before its worldwide release. The stage may be where the performance happens, but every song starts somewhere. For this Mind Rune, that place is a musician’s desk, surrounded by notes, keys, and unfinished ideas.
