During the
RLCS 2026 World Championship, it was revealed by the
broadcast that both content creators and professional players were brought onboard to provide advice and assist Psyonix developers during the process to migrate Rocket League to Unreal Engine 6. Many people including Alexis "
zen" Bernier, Archie "
Archie" Pickthall and Victor
"Ferra" Francal were interviewed during the
video announcement released by Rocket League on YouTube. Players have been playtesting the game at multiple LAN events this season. It was also confirmed that the game would come out on Unreal Engine 6 in 2027.
At the Paris Major, a short reveal trailer was released by Epic Games showing that UE6 would be coming to Rocket League in the near future. Details of the migration were then released by
by Epic Games development lead Marcus Wassmer who said Epic Games would be targeting an early access release of the game engine for public use at the end of 2027. According to our sources, Rocket League is expected to migrate to the engine in the Spring 2027, with the Esports World Cup to be the first tournament to take place on UE6.
