" Hyeon-taek announced on Wednesday that he wants to return to competitive pro play, several months after being benched by
GIANTX in the
League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC), after successfully postponing his mandatory military service until 2028.
He also added: "LEC is my priority, but I'm interested [in] all English regions." Still under contract with GIANTX, the 24-year-old has been allowed by the Spanish organization to explore his options for next year. He also said that after taking a long two-month break from playing LoL, he had returned to solo queue and was currently at 1,700 LP with a win rate of nearly 70%, with the goal of reaching the top 10.
An eighth consecutive year for Noah
After taking part in a few tournaments in 2018 and 2019, Noah began his competitive career in 2020 with KT Rolster Academy in LCK AS, Korea's third division. The following year, he was promoted to LCK CL, the second division, and even made a few appearances in the LCK.
In 2023, Noah left his home country for Europe, joining Zero Tenacity in the Ultraliga (Polish League). He immediately won a split, which earned him a move to Fnatic for the Summer Split, where he replaced Martin "Rekkles" Larsson. He remained with Fnatic until the end of 2024, attending two World Championships, before joining GIANTX in 2025, where he spent the following two years.
Rebuild everything for GIANTX
On the
side, Noah is not the only player whose contract is expiring. In fact, every member of the roster and coaching staff is out of contract at the end of 2026. As previously reported by
Sheep Esports, two players have already found a new home, with Adam "
Jackies" Jeřábek and Yoon "
Jun" Se-jun joining Team Heretics.
His longtime clubmate and botlane partner, support Jun, also managed to postpone his mandatory military service. At 26, he will therefore play a new competitive year with Team Heretics after spending eight splits in Europe alongside Noah, he played last one with Víctor "
" Lirola Tortosa.
