G2 Esports officially parts ways with Head Coach Dylan Falco after nearly five years
The Canadian coach leaves behind a remarkable legacy, including 11 LEC titles with the org, while his next destination remains unknown ahead of the 2027 season

have formally announced the departure of its longest-serving League of Legends Head Coach, Dylan Falco, bringing an end to his nearly five-year stint with the organization — and, arguably, the team’s best era. The announcement came on August 31, a few weeks after G2 benched the Canadian coach and replaced him with Luka "Perkz" Perković. “11 LEC Trophies. First Stand Finals. Countless banger drafts. Thank you for everything, Dylan Falco. See you on the Rift,” the European team stated in its farewell tweet.
Dylan Falco’s G2 Legacy Comes To An End
Dylan Falco has been one of the most respected and decorated coaches in the Western League of Legends scene. He joined G2 back in December 2021 alongside the roster’s head analyst Rodrigo "Rodrigo" Oliveira as part of the organisation’s rebuild for the 2022 LEC season.
His time with the Samurai quickly produced amazing results, with Falco helping G2 return to the top both regionally and internationally. During his tenure, the organization secured eleven LEC titles, three MSI semi-final appearances, and a runner-up finish at First Stand 2026. Before arriving at G2, Falco guided Fnatic to the 2018 World Championship final and worked with FC Schalke 04 for three years.
“We feel Perkz is the staff lead we need right now”
Falco was first moved to the inactive roster by G2 on July 10, just hours after G2’s elimination from the Mid-Season Invitational following a painful loss against . Although the decision was not a result of this defeat, it was instead a strategic move, as Perkz appeared to be a better fit for the organisation’s long-term plans.
“Obviously this has nothing to do with the qualities of Dylan, who is the GOAT western coach of League of Legends,” G2 Esports’ League of Legends team manager Romain Bigeard said. “It just means that for this roster and these players, we feel Perkz is the staff lead we need right now.”
The move was particularly shocking given that Dylan was under contract with G2 until 2027, according to the Global Contract Database. At the moment, Dylan’s next move remains unknown, but multiple teams will likely be looking to grab him for the 2027 LEC season. G2 Esports, on the other hand, has qualified for the LEC 2026 Summer Split Playoffs with a 6-3 record in the Regular Season. The roster will face in-form in the Upper Bracket Semi-finals, aiming to finish top-three in the tournament to qualify for Worlds 2026.
