LYON will host Cloud9, Shopify Rebellion, and Team Liquid for the LCS First Road Show

As the 2026 League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) Summer Split kicks off its high-octane gameplay, the league has revealed that will host the first North American road show of the season at Arena Esports Stadium at CINEMEX Artz Pedregal on August 29-30, the Mexican organization’s home ground.

The LCS Homegrounds: Mexico City Showdown will be played during the later stages of the Summer Split. The sixth week of the competition’s regular season will spice up the standings as the playoff stage looms over the host of the 2026 World Championship.

This road show will mark the return of competitive League of Legends to the same venue where Mexico City hosted the Worlds 2022 Play-in stage. The Mexican organization will bring its Liga Latinoamérica roots to the LCS by inviting its North American counterparts, , , and .

This first iteration of LCS Homegrounds in Mexico City will involve the 2026 Spring Split’s top three teams, and is sure to deliver barn-burner matches. The Rebels and their support change, a roster move they hope will improve their chances to qualify for Worlds, take on Team Liquid for Saturday’s opening series as the home team closes the day facing off against Cloud9’s seven-man roster.

Sunday opens up with incredible stakes on the line. The first series will feature LYON and Team Liquid, a rematch of the Spring Split Finals and a match that could decide the top of the regular season standings. The road show closes with Cloud9 and Shopify Rebellion fighting for a better spot on the standings going into the last week of competition.

Fans eager to attend LCS Homegrounds: Mexico City will be able to buy Individual tickets for the matches on either Saturday or Sunday. Tickets for Saturday or Sunday will be available on August 7th at 12 pm CST (11 am PDT/2 pm EST) through Cinemex’s official website or official app. A ticket includes access to watch both series of the day and a surprise commemorative article that LYON hasn’t revealed yet. Tickets will cost 599 MXN, or around 31 USD.

Aside from the matches, fans in attendance will be able to purchase official merch, with space for LCS organizations to host various activities, and several other surprises that LYON will prepare for the event.

Arena Esports Stadium at CINEMAX Artz Pedregal has a capacity of 140 spectators, according to Leaguepedia’s “venues” section from Worlds 2022. The arena where LYON will host the LCS Homegrounds Mexico City can accommodate 106 fewer spectators than the LCS regular location, making it a significantly smaller venue compared to Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles.

Tier 1 competitions will make their long-awaited return to Mexico since the Latin American country was integrated into the North American region and the LLA folded after the 2024 season.

The Mexican fans will have the opportunity to prove to Riot Games and the league why the region still burns with intense passion, with the hopes that a previously neglected fanbase can shorten the distance between the current LCS fans.
