Knight named MVP of LPL Split 3, BLG dominate the All-Pro Team

The LPL Split 3 Awards have been handed out, with Knight taking home the MVP award, BLG winning Best Coaching Staff, About being named Rookie of the Year, and the three All-Pro Teams being announced, with the First All-Pro Team dominated by Bilibili Gaming.

About is named LPL Rookie of the Year

The League of Legends Pro League (LPL) Split 3 is nearing its conclusion, with the Grand Finals already underway, giving one of the world’s most prestigious leagues the opportunity to hand out its end-of-year awards. Unsurprisingly, Zhuo “Knight” Ding was named Split MVP, Moon “About” Hyeong-seok was named Rookie of the Year, while Bilibili Gaming’s coaching staff was voted Coaching Staff of the Year.

As for the All-Pro Teams, Top Esports’ young toplaner Cheng “ZUIAN” Zi-Hao makes the cut, alongside the ever-reliable Anyone’s Legend Lee “Tarzan” Seung-yong in the jungle and, unsurprisingly, Knight in the midlane. BLG’s dominance continues in the botlane, with Park “Viper” Do-hyeon at AD Carry and Luo “ON” Wen-Jun at support.

The Third All-Pro Team is made up of Invictus Gaming’s Kang “TheShy” Seung-lok in the toplane, LGD Gaming’s Yang “Heng” Cui-Heng in the jungle and Lin “Tangyuan” Yu-Hong in the midlane, and JD Gaming’s botlane duo of Chen “GALA” Wei and Zhao “Vampire” Zhe-Can.

A Well-Deserved Award for Knight

BLG’s Chinese midlaner has been one of the best players in the world for several years now. The reigning First Stand champion, a three-time defending LPL champion, and the runner-up at the Mid-Season Invitational after falling to Hanwha Life Esports, Knight is undoubtedly going through one of the best periods of his career and will now be looking to finally claim his first Worlds title later this year.

He leads the league in kills across all roles (6.1 per game), ranks second among midlaners in KDA (5.4), and leads the role in CS per minute (9.2). He has won every major trophy there is to win except one, the biggest of them all, the Worlds title. And this year could very well be the one. The LCK appears somewhat less dominant this year, while BLG’s dominance in the LPL is reminiscent of JDG and Knight’s golden year in 2023.
