Riot Games China has officially announced a collaboration between VALORANT and French luxury brand Balenciaga for VALORANT Champions Shanghai 2026. Viper is the main subject of the partnership, as the agent has officially become Balenciaga’s first-ever digital brand ambassador.
As part of the partnership, a limited-time concept café will open in Shanghai for the whole duration of Champions. This will give fans the chance to visit a dedicated physical space and learn more about the new partnership.

Alongside the café, Balenciaga is going to launch its first-ever blue-light gaming glasses, named “NEO FOCUS.” This will be the first time Balenciaga releases eyewear specifically dedicated to gaming.
Riot’s approach with luxury brands
This is not the first time Riot Games has announced a luxury brand partnership for one of its titles. In 2019, League of Legends launched a dedicated fashion line with Louis Vuitton, one of the world’s most recognizable luxury brands, and the collaboration proved successful. The collection sold out in less than an hour after its launch and performed particularly well in Asian markets, including China, Singapore, South Korea, and Japan.
“The final will be watched by 100 million people minimum, so the number of people that will actually be exposed to this is going to be a multiple of how many viewers watched the final. This is going to go viral. It’s going to be an eye-opener for hundreds of millions of people.”
However, in that case, Louis Vuitton also created a trophy case, giving fans another way to notice the partnership during the event.
Although the execution is different this time, China remains an important market for VALORANT, and Champions also gives Balenciaga access to an international esports audience. The Champions 2025 final in Paris reached 1,473,642 viewers excluding the Chinese fanbase, according to Esports Charts, while the arenas were almost always packed with fans throughout the event.
Having Viper as the face of the collaboration also makes sense visually. Her identity revolves around toxic gas, blocking vision and controlling what opponents can see across the map, which fits naturally with the concept behind Balenciaga’s new gaming glasses.
The collaboration therefore gives Balenciaga a way to enter the gaming space while keeping the focus on one of VALORANT’s most recognizable agents.
