Team Liquid for the 2027
VCT EMEA season, according to sources close to
Sheep Esports. The Turkish Duelist has attracted significant interest across the region, with at least four teams reportedly considering him for a starting VCT roster.
Kachoww recently became available to explore offers after being released by Fire Flux Esports. The Duelist was one of the key players behind the team's impressive run through the VCT EMEA Stage 2 Play-In, which saw Fire Flux, a Tier 2 team, make a deep run against EMEA's partnered organizations, reaching the top four of the competition in Barcelona.
Kachoww attracted interest from across EMEA
Fire Flux entered the VCT EMEA Stage 2 Play-In after coming through the Tier 2 scene and managed to reach Lower Round 3, becoming the Tier 2 team that came closest to securing a spot at Champions. The team's run ultimately came to an end against Team Liquid. Liquid went on to reach the Grand Final of VCT EMEA Stage 2, where the organization finished as runner-up.
Kachoww's performances throughout the tournament helped put the Duelist on the radar of several EMEA organizations. According to sources, at least four teams wanted him for their main VCT roster, while almost every organization in the region had shown some level of interest in the player.
Team Liquid make changes ahead of Champions
Kachoww's reported move to Team Liquid comes as the organization has made changes to its roster ahead of Champions. Liquid recently removed Semyon “purp0” Borchev from its active lineup and added Ognjen “GSR” Bondžić for the international tournament. GSR previously played for Liquid's academy roster and had not made a Tier 1 appearance before being selected for the Champions lineup.
The move means GSR did his Tier 1 debut on the international stage at Champions, while Liquid could now be looking toward Kachoww as part of its plans for the 2027 season.
Liquid’s contract roster situation
Team Liquid's current roster also features different contract timelines heading into the 2027 season. Ayaz “nAts” Akhmetshin, Kamil "kamo" Frąckowiak, and Kimmie "Kicks" Laasner are under contract through the end of 2026, while Nikita "trexx" Cherednichenko is tied to the organization through 2026 and GSR has a contract running until the end of 2029, according to Riot's Global Contract Database.
