With the offseason heating up in North America,
Gen.G Mobil1 Racing are expected to sign Landon
"BeastMode" Konerman, Cohen "
Tawk" Hawco, and Nicholas "
Chronic" Iwanski to form their new
Rocket League roster. The three players have already held discussions with the organization and are expected to sign in the coming days. Barring a last-minute offer from another team, which currently appears unlikely, the players are set to finalize their deals with Gen.G, according to sources who spoke to Sheep Esports
The roster has slowly formed over the offseason and were a target of NRG amid the potential departures of Massimo
"Atomic" Franceschi and Daniel
"Daniel" Piecenski.
MajorRLCS reported that the trio had formed and were exploring their options following RLCS 2026. However, sources close to the situation have confirmed that Gen.G are now leading NRG in the race to sign the trio.
Tawk
entered free agency this offseason after departing Virtus.pro, initially announcing that while the team could stick, he was going to
explore his options. The Canadian
made his first appearance at a World Championship during RLCS 2026 and achieved a surprise top-six placement alongside teammates Jayden "
2Piece" Horton and Dylan "
Wahvey" Thanus. Chronic, who gambled to join FUT Esports mid-season now looks set to depart the organization after a six-month stint, having reached the Paris Major, the Esports World Cup, and the 2026 World Championship. BeastMode, whose long-term partnership with Atomic and Daniel looks set to come to an end, will begin a new chapter with Gen.G, having won the World Championship last season.
Initially coming into the offseason, Gen.G was expected to conduct a rebuild around their remaining player Kenneth
"frosty" Walz. The organization
parted ways with both Jordan "
Evoh" Manley and Christopher "
MaJicBear" Acevedo in August while allowing its coaching staff Gregory "
RawGreg" Alex and Kevin "
Kevpert" M to also depart following EWC LCQ. Gen.G CEO
Arnold Hur confirmed on twitter that the organization was not “done with Rocket League” despite these departures. While Gen.G planned to build around frosty, a new roster featuring a former World Champion was too much give up for an organization that missed its first World Championship since joining the esport for RLCS 2022-23.
As a result, NRG looks set to be left without a single member of its RLCS 2025 winning core this offseason. The organization has been a staple at the top of North American Rocket League since entering the esport ten years ago in 2016. Daniel and Atomic are both
set to join Shopify Rebellion having prioritized competing with Jason
"Firstkiller" Corral for the
RLCS Club Championship. Many players still remain an option this offseason, with multiple free agents including 2Piece, Wahvey, and João "
diaz" Henrique still
exploring their options.
