Patch 13.05, unveiled on September 1, brings several updates focused on player experience, esports, and competitive integrity in
VALORANT. Riot Games has adjusted Sound Sprays so they can only be heard by nearby players, reducing their impact on team communications. Pick’Ems will also return for
Champions Shanghai, with Group Stage predictions going live on September 10 ahead of the tournament’s start on September 24. Riot has also begun penalizing players using stream sniping or instalock tools, with temporary bans escalating to permanent bans for repeat offenses.
The
patch also prepares a major Agent Gear overhaul coming with Patch 13.06 on September 22. Previously unlocked gear will remain available, while future items will be tied directly to playtime on the associated Agent. Riot has also fixed several bugs affecting Agents, abilities, and performance, including issues with smokes, Cypher, KAY/O, Omen, and Waylay. On PC, the default number of bots in the Range has been reduced to five, with players able to choose between one, five, or ten bots.
