The second semifinal match of the
Demacia Cup Global Invitational 2026 has concluded, with Team WE advancing to the grand final following a hard-fought 3-2 victory over
HANJIN BRION. As the last remaining LPL representative competing on home soil,
Team WE survived a full five-game series to fend off the LCK squad and keep the domestic trophy defense alive.
With this result, Team WE have secured the final spot in the championship decider on October 17, setting up a clash against
BNK FEARX. Meanwhile, BRION exit the competition in 3rd-4th place, concluding their Demacia Cup run after pushing the series to the limit.
Team WE strike first
Despite a close kill score, Team WE controlled the entire map in Game 1. Funneling significant farm into
Wang "Monki" Meng-Qi on jungle Jayce, Monki consistently chunked down BRION's lineup with poke damage. By the late game, Monki held a nearly 5,000-gold lead over the opposing jungler. The final clash over the Dragon Soul decided the opener, with WE closing out the game even without their ADC alive. Monki earned MVP honors with an 8/1/5 scoreline.
Game 2 followed a similar trajectory after BRION squandered an early lead that included two dragons. As teamfights broke out around mid-game neutral objectives, WE stacked Infernal Drakes and punished BRION's positioning errors. The pivotal moment occurred during the Dragon Soul contest, when
Park "Teddy" Jin-sung stepped too deep into the pit on Lucian and was caught out immediately, triggering a complete collapse for BRION and putting WE up 2-0.
BRION mount the comeback
Facing elimination, BRION turned the series around in Game 3 behind their primary carry duo. While
Team WE generated early map pressure, BRION stabilized once
Cho "Roamer" Woo-jin's Locke and Teddy's Kalista scaled into their item spikes, combining for 16 kills by the 30-minute mark. After securing their fourth Infernal Drake, BRION pushed directly into WE's base to claim their first map win, with Roamer earning MVP honors at 12/1/3.
BRION carried that momentum straight into Game 4 to force a Silver Scrapes decider. Team WE initially built a gold lead, but an overextended dive between the Tier 2 and Tier 3 turrets completely dismantled their advantage. BRION capitalized instantly, seizing full map priority and closing the game with a dominant 24-8 kill score. Roamer collected his second consecutive MVP award of the day, this time on Ahri.
The home crowd delivers
Game 5 opened at a breakneck pace, with the teams trading blows to sit deadlocked at 6-6 in kills and completely even in gold at the eight-minute mark. However,
Team WE displayed much more confidence in the mid game, securing the Infernal Soul at the 26-minute mark. Ultimately, Team WE pinned BRION inside their base, took an uncontested Elder Dragon, and won the final fight in the bottom lane to close out the series 3-2. The victory marks a long-awaited milestone for the organization, whose last international grand final appearance dates back to IEM Season IX in 2015, where they fell to TSM.
The final hurdle
With the semifinals wrapped up, the stage is set for the Demacia Cup Global Invitational 2026 grand final on October 17 at the Beijing JD Esports Center.
Team WE will face
BNK FEARX in a high-stakes cross-regional final between the LPL and LCK.
For
Team WE, the matchup represents an opportunity to defend home turf and salvage the title for China after the early exits of their domestic peers. For
BNK FEARX, who dismantled
KT Rolster 3-1 in the opening semifinal, the series is a chance to complete an undefeated playoff run. Both rosters have relied heavily on aggressive jungle pathing and fast-paced skirmishing throughout the bracket, setting up an explosive clash for the ¥1,500,000 CNY prize pool.
