Sources: Extra set to retain his position as head coach of new Karmine Corp project

According to sources, Karmine Corp head coach, Alexandre "Extra" Paoli, is expected to retain his position with the organization to complete its RLCS rebuild ahead of the Rocket League Club Championship. Despite talks with Gentle Mates to follow Tristan "Atow" Soyez and Axel "Vatira" Touret to the organization, the 24-year-old has now committed to Karmine Corp for another season, as first reported by MajorRLCS. The French veteran retired as a player in 2025, joining Karmine Corp ahead of RLCS 2026. He helped the organization win the Paris Major in his first full season as a head coach and appeared on stage at the RLCS 2026 World Championship, where the team bowed out with a top-four finish.

The 24-year-old is expected to be working with his former teammate Evan "M0nkey M00n" Rogez, who he won the RLCS 2021-22 World Championship with. The French duo were teammates together for just under three years and competed on two famed Team BDS lineups that have gone down in the Rocket League Esports history books. They are now set to bring on board two young-guns to compete in the RLCS Club Championship, Attila "bibbaba" Eötvös and reyyn. Both players are 16-years-old and while neither of them have considerable RLCS experience, they will now be under the tutelage of two of the Esports greatest professionals in an organization that already has a storied past in Rocket League.

Earlier in the offseason, it was unclear whether Karmine Corp would continue in the game. The organization was considering its position in the esport after losing a bidding war for its key franchise players, Atow and Vatira, who are now set to join Gentle Mates alongside Alexis "zen" Bernier. Both players competed under the organization for many years, contributing to four RLCS LAN titles and a Esports World Cup win in 2025. As a result of their expected departure, Karmine Corp were forced to rebuild a completely new roster for RLCS 2027, even Charles "juicy" Sabiani agreed a deal to sign with Geekay Esports alongside Enzo "Seikoo" Grondein.

With options running out, the organization chose to focus on youth talent but also prioritised the important addition of M0nkey M00n. The two-time World Champion, widely considered one of the greatest players in the history of Rocket League, brings a wealth of experience to a team that was desperate for a high-profile name to mentor its new additions. Karmine Corp will go into the next season with a new complexion, alongside a professional who has done it all. Extra will back up this experience, having already had a successful working relationship with M0nkey M00n in the past. The duo will be hoping they can take their inexperienced teammates to new heights. The team will make their debut at the London RLCS Kick-Off in December, as Karmine Corp is one of 20 partnered organizations invited to the event.
