EST Bwipo: "My goal is to retire in the LEC. I want to win against Caps"

Gabriël “” Rau does not expect to remain in Brazil for the 2027 season. Speaking on the MD3 Podcast, the toplaner revealed that his main goal is to return to the LEC before the end of his career, with one particular achievement still missing from his résumé: winning a European title against Rasmus “” Winther. “I don't think I'll stay for 2027, you shouldn't expect that. I already told Estral that my goal is to retire in the LEC. I want to win against Caps. I've already won with him, but never against him”, Bwipo said.

The Belgian did not completely rule out remaining in Brazil, however. Returning to the LEC is his priority, but he said CBLOL could be an alternative if he cannot find an appealing opportunity in Europe. “I want to play in the LEC, but if I can't play in the LEC and there isn't a team there that interests me much, I'm looking at the CBLOL. I think it's a very good place, so it's a possibility.”

Bwipo and Caps have a long history together. The two played alongside each other on in 2018, winning the EU LCS both splits before reaching the Worlds Grand Final in the same year. In this last opportunity, Fnatic finished as runners-up after losing the final to .

While Bwipo has already won a European title alongside Caps, he has never won a European championship against the European GOAT. His closest opportunity came in 2021, when Fnatic indeed eliminated Caps and in the LEC Summer playoffs before losing 3-1 to MAD Lions in the final.

Bwipo's LEC career has otherwise included several deep playoff runs and international appearances with the Black and Orange. He last played in Europe's top league in 2021, when he moved to the jungle for the second half of the season and helped Fnatic reach the LEC Summer final.

After leaving Europe, Bwipo moved to North America and became one of the most experienced European players in the region. His time with culminated in a successful 2025 campaign, when the organization won the LTA North Split 2, LTA North Split 3 and the LTA 2025 Championship. FlyQuest defeated 3-1 in the LTA Championship final.

Bwipo joined Estral Esports for the 2026 season and made an immediate impact in the Brazilian Tier 2 scene. Estral won the second split of the Circuito Desafiante without losing a single game, finishing the competition with a perfect 19-0 record across the regular season. The team defeated KaBuM! Ilha das Lendas 3-0 in the Grand Final.

Despite the dominant Circuito Desafiante campaign, Estral's title did not automatically secure a place in the CBLOL. The organization will compete in the 2027 CBLOL Promotion Tournament alongside KaBuM! IDL, 9z Globant, Golden Lions and LØS, with the winner earning the CBLOL 2027 Guest Team spot.

The Promotion Tournament begins on September 28 and will feature the five teams in a double-elimination bracket. LØS, the current Guest Team, will have to defend its position in the CBLOL, while Estral enters the tournament as the first seed from the Circuito Desafiante.
