Team Liquid’s captain will remain with the organization for next season. With his contract expiring this year and after exploring the market for some time, Ayaz “
nAts” Akhmetshin will ultimately stay with the European organization for the upcoming season, sources tell
Sheep Esports. The Russian player joined the team in 2023 and will therefore begin his fifth season with the club in 2027.
Recently, nAts and TL competed at
VALORANT Champions but failed to make it out of the group stage, despite showing more encouraging performances during VCT EMEA Stage 2. More broadly, the player and the team have never reached the playoffs at Champions together. That has not deterred Team Liquid, who continue to place their full trust in their in-game leader and are expected to retain a significant portion of their roster for next season.
A roster with even more firepower
After announcing on X last week that he was LFT, nAts has ultimately decided to remain with TL for next season. The player attracted interest from several teams, particularly from other regions, but none of those opportunities materialized. One of the region’s most iconic figures will therefore stay with the team with which he won the inaugural VCT EMEA title in 2023, as well as Stage 2 in 2025.
Earlier during Champions, Team Liquid had already begun its offseason by securing the signing of Turkish prospect Samet “Kachoww” Arıcı. The team would therefore retain a solid core for next season while continuing to rely on players already within the organization.
According to sources, Kamil “kamo” Frąckowiak, who enjoyed a strong individual season, is also expected to stay, alongside the coaching staff and Ognjen “GSR” Bondžić, who was promoted to the main roster from the academy ahead of Champions. With these four players secured, Team Liquid would have a roster boasting considerable firepower that could prove dangerous next season.
