The North American player has been benched after being part of the team's core since competing with The Guard in 2022.
Player Michael "neT" Bernet has reportedly been benched from G2 Esports' starting lineup, sources close to Sheep Esports told on Tuesday. The player's future is uncertain at the moment, and we cannot guarantee whether he will find a new team or serve as G2's substitute.
The core will not continue together
The North American player will not continue in the starting roster after playing alongside the core players of The Guard since early 2022. NeT, along with Trent, JohanP, and Valyn, joined G2 Esports after securing promotion with The Guard.
The Guard failed to submit the documentation and meet the requirements in time to enter VCT Americas, thus G2 Esports took The Guard's spot and retained the core that earned the promotion, except for Tex, who signed with Leviatan.
G2 Esports is currently holding tryouts for the position; at the moment, the replacement has not been finalized, and there are at least three different options on the table.
SheepEsports will continue to report on the upcoming changes that occur during this Valorant offseason.
