After a top-six finish at the
Rocket League 2026 World Championship, the
Virtus.pro roster featuring Dylan "
Wahvey" Thanus, Jayden "
2Piece" Horton, and Cohen "
Tawk" Hawco have entered unrestricted free agency. The players announced in a series of three tweets that while they could stick for the
RLCS Club Championship, they have made the decision to “explore their options” after departing Virtus.pro. With the offseason well underway, all three players are considered hot commodities in the region and could be fighting for a place on the top rosters.
Virtus.pro signed the North American trio ahead of the RLCS 2026 Boston Major. The team had spent the first Split competing under the name [REDACTED], appearing at the Kick-Off Weekend and earning back to back second-place finishes in Regional Open 2 and 3. In their debut with the organization, they managed a 9th-12th finish in Boston, exiting the event in the Group Stage after losses to Team Falcons and Geekay Esports. The team then struggled to maintain their Split 1 highs but still earned enough ranking points during Split 2 to reach the 2026 World Championship. They shocked the scene by topping their group in the event, with wins over Team Vitality, Gentle Mates and Wildcard. While they ultimately couldn’t push on in the playoffs, dropping series to Karmine Corp 2-4 and Spacestation Gaming 0-4, they characterised the strength of North America as a region in the competition.
With multiple players already announcing free agency in North America,
including Shopify Rebellion’s Angel "
kofyr" Lopez and Spacestation Gaming’s João "
diaz" Henrique, the region is expected to undergo major changes ahead of the RLCS Club Championship in November.
