The first major move of the LEC offseason. After spending three seasons with
, where he made his LEC debut in 2024, the midlaner
is leaving the Spanish organization to join another. The Czech player will join
from next year as both organizations have reached a verbal agreement this weekend, sources tell
Sheep Esports.
Originally signed to a three-year contract upon his arrival and set to become a free agent at the end of this year, Jackies had the opportunity to explore his options for next season after being at the heart of GIANTX's project for several years. The Spanish team, which reached the top four twice this season, wanted to re-sign its franchise player, but he ultimately decided to accept Team Heretics' offer after long negotiations. One factor that helped convince Jackies in his decision is the new project of Team Heretics.
Decent Results, but never great
Over the course of his tenure with the team, the now 21-year-old midlaner has
largely remained consistent in the league. His biggest claim to fame has notably been this year’s back-to-back fourth-place finishes in the LEC Versus and 2026 Spring Season. Additionally, Jackies was elected
Rookie of the Year in 2024, his debut season.
This summer, Jackies
ranked sixth overall in terms of pure laning statistics, with his CS, XP, and Gold differentials at 15 minutes all in the negatives. However, Jackies has generally produced better results when taking into account his performances outside of laning. This split, he held the league’s fourth-highest damage-per-minute among midlaners while also ranking above average in CS and Gold per minute.
Team Heretics speed up
Team Heretics are wasting no time this offseason. In VALORANT, the Spanish organization has already signed three players to its 2027 roster, including the surprise addition of EMEA star Emirhan “hiro” Kat. Now, the organization appears to be taking a similar approach in League of Legends, becoming the first team to make a move for the 2027 season.
On the rift, Jackies will replace
, who never really managed to establish himself within the team this season. The Turkish midlaner, who joined the LEC at the start of the season, lacked consistency, much like his team, which never really found its rhythm and failed to qualify for the playoffs this season, aside from the LEC Versus, where they were still the first team eliminated.
With this signing, the team could potentially aim for better results next season by rebuilding around a player who has been a solid presence in the LEC in recent years. It is currently expected that Team Heretics will make further changes for next year. Since joining the LEC in 2023, the Spanish organization has made at least three changes per position during each offseason.
