The
Rocket League Esports Club Championship has been announced by Epic Games outlining the future of competitive Rocket League heading into the new season. The Club Championship will feature 24 teams, a $2.5 million prizepool and multiple LAN events.
20 teams will be directly invited to the Club Championship while four additional squads will begin their journey in November, where they will compete in an online Open Qualifier. The combined 24 teams will then feature at an expanded Kick-off LAN in London at the familiar Copper box Arena from December 9-13. After the London LAN, the 24 teams will compete in a online league play to qualify for a 16 team LAN finale, which is expected to be in North America. The announcement is confirmation of a
Sheep Esports report published earlier this week.
According to Psyonix Howie, senior Social Media Content Manager for Rocket League, the RLCS Club Championship “is a fresh competition for both players and teams alike, sitting apart from the Major structure fans already know.”
