EDward Gaming is the reigning champion of VCT
Released on September 4th, the Paris 2025 Champions Bundle appears to be a major success, according to the numerous reactions on X and Reddit. Yet, one particular figure seems to stand out above the rest, confirming the collection’s remarkable performance. According to public statistics from Douyin, the Chinese equivalent of TikTok, the bundle has already generated nearly 40 million dollars in sales, just within China and solely on this platform, not even counting in-game purchases.

These figures are even more striking when considering that Riot Games takes a 50% cut of the total revenue, meaning only half of what these sales generate will actually be returned by the end of the year. Here, this huge amount from Douyin alone can also be explained by the platform offering the bundle at a slightly lower price than in the game itself. For the full collection, it costs 426 RMB (approximately $59.50) on Douyin, compared to 459 RMB ($64) directly on VALORANT. As of the writing of this article, Wednesday, September 10th, with more than 616,000 sales, this represents a total of 262,416,000 RMB, or roughly 36.2 million USD.
More money for VCT teams
It’s worth noting that the top-selling items also include the Vandal Champions skin, which can be purchased individually and has sold nearly 135,000 units. Priced at 186 RMB, it would have generated approximately 24,705,000 RMB, or around 3.4 million USD. Between Tuesday, September 9th and Wednesday, September 10th, this figure alone grew by nearly one million dollars, with an additional 16,500 full bundle sales and around 5,000 individual skin purchases.
Of course, these numbers likely include a cut taken by Douyin itself, estimated between 1 and 5% according to various online sources. Therefore, the $40 million figure should be taken with some caution, even though it remains very impressive, especially when compared to figures shared by Leo Faria at the end of 2024. He explained that with the “[...]VCT content in-game, we were able to share $44.3M from digital goods with teams. Coupled with stipends and prize pools, the VCT shared a grand total of $78.4M with its 44 teams.”
These impressive numbers can also be attributed to VALORANT being one of the most played games in the country, second only to League of Legends, and to the collection seemingly appealing to a large number of players. esports.gg even reports that nearly 97.5% of comments under these sales are positive, suggesting that the numbers are far from peaking, and that adding in-game purchases could further boost these totals.
