Rooster has only played 12 games with Team BDS in 2025
Team BDS will retain Shin "Rooster" Yun-hwan as their starting toplaner for the 2026 LEC season, according to sources close to Sheep Esports, confirming the young Korean import's important role in the organization's rebuilding efforts. Already signed through 2026 when joining, Rooster will be the starting toplaner for the team in Winter 2026.
Interest from Fnatic
During the offseason, Fnatic was a team interested in Rooster. However, Team BDS declined any external offer for the toplaner. Not open to negotiate, Team BDS fully intends to keep their new toplaner. This news was confirmed by sources who were told by the Swiss organization that Rooster will be on their roster next year.
Rooster, who joined BDS for the 2025 Summer Split from Hanwha Life Esports Challengers, has quickly become a key player despite the team's struggle with an eighth-place finish in Summer 2025. His calm, calculated style and teamfighting instincts have made him a valuable asset for a roster aiming to find consistent results moving forward.
First player locked
While most of the topside roster is expected to stay—including Mehdi "Boukada" Lahlou in jungle and Ilias "nuc" Bizriken in mid—uncertainty remains around both roles. Although Boukada and nuc are signed through 2026, sources indicate there is no guarantee they will start; both positions are still subject to offseason evaluation and could be affected by transfer market developments or performance reviews. At present, Rooster is the only player confirmed for the main roster, with decisions elsewhere pending.
Botlane especially is under uncertainties. Support Polat "Parus" Furkan Çiçek has been given permission by Team BDS to explore other options as the club considers changes in that position. Parus’ contract expires in November 2025, and although the door remains open for a potential re-signing, he has already started talks with other LEC teams, suggesting he will likely stay in the league but possibly not with BDS. His rookie LEC season was below expectations after a highly successful 2024 with BDS Academy, where he won the LFL and EMEA Masters twice.
Additionally, another contract running out at the end of 2025 is that of Yoon "Ice" Sang-hoon, the ADC, adding some further offseason decision points for BDS. Meanwhile, head coach Yanis "Striker" Kella has extended his contract through the end of 2026, giving the team leadership stability as they move into the new year.
Team BDS's reported 2026 Winter split roster:
- Top: Shin "Rooster" Yun-hwan
- Jungle: TBD
- Mid: TBD
- ADC: TBD
- Support: TBD
- Head Coach: Yanis "Striker" Kella
