Oleg made his ERL1 debut this season, after two years competing in ERL2 circuits
Veni Vidi Vici is definitely undergoing a substantial roster overhaul. Following the arrivals of Martin "Marty" Dimitrov and Marcin "iBo" Lebuda, the Spanish team has reportedly secured a third signing for the third Superliga split: Oleg "Oleg" Karkachev. The Russian jungler is set to replace Tiago "Time" Almeida. Oleg had been playing for AOMA Esports since March and now becomes the second player from Road of Legends to join the team, following Marty. Unlike his new teammate, Oleg did not win the competition, instead finishing third in the Benelux league. A few months earlier, he made his ERL1 debut with Team UNiTY in the Hitpoint Masters, though without success, ending in 9th–11th place.
Over the past two seasons, Oleg has rotated through various ERL2 teams. He competed in the Hitpoint Challengers in 2023, followed by stints in Ultraliga 2 and Prime League 2 during 2024. He also participated in the NLC Aurora Cup under the Venomcrest Esports banner, reaching the tournament final. Now 21, Oleg is set to experience his first major ERL despite a relatively small number of matches played and without any particularly noteworthy accomplishments thus far. Historically, he has shown greater comfort on carry-oriented champions such as Lillia, Viego, Zyra, and Wukong.
A Gamble to Reignite Momentum
While iBo’s performance level is more easily assessed and Marty’s recruitment made sense given the rapid ascent of the midlaner, the signing of Oleg represents a genuine gamble for Veni Vidi Vici. The Spanish organization will need to swiftly find synergy with a jungler who remains largely untested at the highest level of regional play. The decision comes on the heels of a disappointing Spring Split, which likely prompted the recent changes. VVV failed to qualify for the playoffs, finishing in a shared 5th–6th place. It was a notable regression for the newly promoted team, which had delivered a promising debut in the Superliga by securing third place in the Winter Split.
