Academy Toplaner Tracyn is considered for promotion, but the toplane spot remains open for now
Midlaner Kamil "Kamiloo" Haudegond and Toplaner Carl "Carlsen" Carlsen will not play for Team Heretics in the LEC, sources tell Sheep Esports. They are the first two players confirmed to be departing the Spanish organization's LEC roster. Carlsen already hinted at the news himself on X by announcing his permission to look for a new team.
While no definitive decision has been made yet, Sebastian "Tracyn" Wojtoń is considered a serious candidate to fill the toplane position. Tracyn made a strong impression throughout 2025 in the LVP Superliga with Team Heretics Academy, showcasing the talent and consistency that make him an attractive prospect for promotion to the LEC roster.
A year of challenges
Kamiloo and Carlsen's 2025 journey with Team Heretics spanned the entire LEC season. The Winter Split proved difficult for the team, as they finished near the bottom of the standings with a 3-6 record and missed the playoffs. Nevertheless, Kamiloo demonstrated resilience and growth as he adjusted to the intense level of competition on the LEC stage. In the Spring Split, he showed improvement both individually and as part of Team Heretics. The team managed to secure a playoff spot, though not without struggles — including a tense tiebreaker against Team Vitality. Throughout the split, Kamiloo delivered more consistent performances that hinted at his potential to compete among Europe’s best midlaners.
However, Team Heretics failed to reach playoffs again after a tough regular season in Summer. Reflecting on the year, this failure and these changes send a disappointing message to the overall ecosystem, as both Kamiloo and Carlsen come from the European ERL network. Carlsen was promoted last year after winning both Superliga splits in 2024, while Kamiloo made a giant leap by being promoted to the LEC from the LFL Division 2.
Building for 2026
With both Kamiloo and Carlsen now free to consider new paths, Team Heretics is actively exploring potential roster moves. The potential promotion of Tracyn from the academy roster to the LEC starting lineup exemplifies the organization’s strategy to invest in homegrown talent with proven capability in regional leagues.
Tracyn had a great run throughout the 2025 season with Los Heretics in the LVP Superliga. Los Heretics secured first place in the Winter split, followed by a third-place finish in Spring, and capped off the Summer split with a strong second-place result. However, they have yet to break past the top 8 at EMEA Masters — with one last chance underway as they currently compete in the Summer Split edition.
