"The players didn’t really show much motivation throughout the split"
Despite a promising start, Solary suffered another disappointment in the LFL, missing the playoffs of the Spring Split. Finishing second in the regular season with six wins and three losses in best-of-one matches, the team faltered during the Swiss Stage. After a 2-1 defeat to Gentle Mates, Solary once again fell to Vitality.Bee.
These back-to-back losses relegated them to the Last Chance Qualifier, where they first managed to get a win against BDS Academy before losing to Vitality a second time in a row—falling short of playoff qualification. In the aftermath of this underwhelming result, Nicolas "Decay" Gawron shared his thoughts on the split, the difficulties currently plaguing the team, and the LEC, which remains a goal for him.
What are your thoughts following the defeat to Vitality.Bee?
Nicolas "Decay" Gawron: "I'm feeling pretty down, I won’t lie. These are definitely not the results we were hoping for.
There have been rumors of internal tension—differences in how the game is perceived within the team. What’s your take on that?
Decay: Like in any team, there are moments when we don’t share the same vision of the game. The problem is that we’re struggling to resolve those differences because we have a lot of strong personalities in the roster.
Do you feel that the new LFL format is overly punishing?
Decay: The problem is that the regular season has almost no impact, unless you finish ninth or tenth. So, what’s the point of having it if it doesn’t really matter in the end?
Do you think the best-of-one format in the LFL creates unpredictability, or does it simply reflect how balanced the league is?
Decay: The format itself isn’t really the issue. We just performed poorly during the weeks that mattered most. That’s all.

Are your goals for the Summer Split still the same? Do you believe the team’s motivation will remain intact?
Decay: I’m not sure, because the players didn’t really show much motivation throughout the split—at least not in terms of their work ethic. I’d like to say yes, and I hope that in a few weeks I’ll be able to say that with certainty. But for now, that’s not the case. They haven’t shown me that they truly want it.
Is joining the LEC still a goal for you??
Decay: I've always had the ambition to reach the LEC. That hasn’t changed. But with the kind of results we had this split, it doesn’t seem like that’s the path that will take me there. Still, it's my objective.
