Joblife was first in the league just three weeks ago
The LFL shows no mercy and delivers another upset. As the Last Chance Qualifier plays out this week, BDS Academy and Joblife are the first teams eliminated from the 2025 Spring Split. On Wednesday, both teams were crushed 2-0 by Solary and GameWard, who now move on to the second round of the LCQ with hopes of qualifying for the Playoffs.
Joblife was caught off guard by GameWard and continues a disheartening streak, having not won a single BO3 since the start of the year. Their downfall is especially cruel: after dropping in the Swiss round to Flash In and finishing 7th overall, they had started the Spring Split strong. At the halfway mark of the regular season, Joblife sat at the top of the standings with a 5-1 record. Since Week 3, however, they’ve won only one game and lost six.
On the other side of the bracket, BDS Academy’s loss is less of a surprise. Solary has a roster built to compete at the top, and their low position in the standings felt more like a curse than a reflection of their true level. Though their BO3 performance wasn’t exactly reassuring, they still managed a clean 2-0 victory. This marks the second split in a row that the Swiss team finishes in last place. They only managed to win a single match during the split, during the LFL Days.
Playoffs bracket to be revealed this Thursday
Two more teams will be eliminated tonight, and we’ll finally see the full Playoffs bracket for the LFL Spring Split. GameWard will try to continue their miracle run against BK ROG in a match where they’re clear underdogs, while Solary faces Vitality.Bee. Neither team aims to end its season in 7th–8th place, as both rosters have title ambitions. A loss for Vitality would mean they finish no better than their Flash In performance, while a loss for Solary would be meaning of a regression after their historical third place finish during Flash In.
All of these twists only highlight how the current LFL format doesn’t allow for stable power dynamics or roster consistency. The Spring Split flew by, and Joblife’s place in the bottom two is also a result of a regular season packed into just three weeks, offering little time to prepare for the high-stakes, fearless BO3s that matter more than anything else. But more conclusions will come after tonight’s matches, starting at 6 p.m.
