Oner and Zeus were the MVPs of the day in the LCK
Expected wins for T1 and Hanwha Life Esports, respectively, against the DN Freecs and Nongshim RedForce. The first series was a one-sided affair, with the reigning world champions giving the LCK’s bottom team no chance—T1 now sit 5th with a 5–4 record, tied with Dplus KIA. The second series featured a much closer Game 2, but HLE eventually came out on top. They remain second in the LCK standings, while Nongshim hold onto third place.
Oner keeps T1 alive
If there’s one player on T1 consistently performing this LCK split, it’s Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun. The 22-year-old jungler has undoubtedly been T1’s standout player. Whether in victory or defeat, he rarely disappoints—and most of the team’s wins tend to go through him. Game 1 of this series was no exception: piloting an unstoppable Xin Zhao, Oner led the charge in a contested early game that T1 eventually controlled, capitalizing on a lackluster performance from the Freecs.
Game 2 was slightly shorter, but once again decided in the topside. Choi "Doran” Hyeon-joon delivered another strong performance on Gnar, continuing his solid form, while Oner’s Pantheon made a big impact to secure the win. This victory was essential for T1 to stay in contention for a Top 5 spot—crucial not only for playoffs qualification but also for being seeded into the top group of the LCK Summer Split.
HLE Struggle but Prevail
For the second series of this LCK morning, it was Choi "Zeus" Woo-je who shone the most on the HLE side. It must also be said that Nongshim handed the game to their opponents, as leaving Jayce open against the double world champion was not a good idea. In the first game, the toplaner had a field day against his opponents, outplaying them and surviving with just 3 HP.
The second game was much more complicated for HLE. They were ahead for most of the game, but the new NS midlaner, Syun "Calix" Hyun-bin, completely took over the game. On his Ahri, he found catch after catch, allowing his team to surpass HLE in gold. It wasn’t until around the 40-minute mark that Zeus, on his Nidalee, occupied two NS players, giving his team, especially his AD Carry, the opportunity to secure the Elder Dragon after a chaotic fight. With the buff, HLE regained control and took down the enemy nexus. They are now 9-1, widening the gap between the top two teams in the LCK and the rest of the field.
Tomorrow, Gen.G will face Dplus KIA to maintain their lead over HLE, while DK will be fighting to bounce back after three consecutive losses. The second series of the day will pit DRX against BNK FEARX. A second consecutive win would be a huge boost for DRX, while FEARX will be determined to even their record at 5-5.
