The Legends Group will be composed of Gen.G, HLE, T1, Nongshim, and KT
On Wednesday, Dplus KIA and KT Rolster faced off in a decisive tiebreaker to close out the LCK regular season, with the fifth and final spot in the Legends Group on the line—alongside Gen.G, Hanwha Life Esports, T1, and Nongshim RedForce. In the end, it was KT who came out on top, locking their place among the elite for Round 3-5. As for DK, they'll now head to the Rise Group, where they'll compete against OKSavingsBank BRION, DRX, BNK FearX, and the DN Freecs.
High-stakes BO5, guaranteed show
Yet the series had started well for DK. They dominated Game 1 from start to finish, closing it out 15–3 with Kim "Aiming" Ha-ram topping the damage charts, well supported by Jeon "Siwoo" Si-woo's Ambessa, who soaked up a lot of pressure. Game 2 was a complete reversal—KT maintained control throughout, rallying around Seo "deokdam" Dae-gil’s Varus to push the tiebreaker to a decisive Game 3.
The final game went over 35 minutes and was largely dictated by KT. DK managed to claw their way back into the game around the 28-minute mark, flipping a 5,000 gold deficit. But a final teamfight in midlane sealed their fate. Lee "PerfecT" Seung-min once again stepped up on Jayce, claiming the MVP of the series and locking KT's spot in the Legends Group.
Up next in Korea, the Road to MSI begins on June 7... with yet another clash between KT Rolster and Dplus KIA—this time in a best-of-five. The series will be an elimination match, with the winner advancing to face Nongshim RedForce in the next round, hoping to climb through the bracket and keep their MSI hopes alive.
