Riftbound x Arcane waiting room
Riot Games officially announced, on Wednesday, July 30, the details surrounding the global release of Riftbound, its collectible card game set in the League of Legends Runeterra universe. The TCG will be available in English starting October 31, 2025, just a few months after its Chinese launch scheduled for August 1. It will be sold at local retail stores across North America, Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, South America, Central America, and Oceania, in addition to online pre-orders. The publisher also revealed an online option to purchase the TCG through its official Riot Games Store, starting August 4 at 9:00 AM PT.
How to buy or pre-order Riftbound
Riot Games also reminded fans that the launch set, called Origins, will include several different products catering to both players and collectors. For TCG players, the Proving Grounds starter set will feature pre-built decks for Annie, Garen, Lux, and Master Yi, while the Champion Decks will spotlight Viktor, Jinx, and Lee Sin. For dedicated collectors or heavy players, there will also be individual 14-card booster packs and full booster boxes containing 24 packs, along with additional accessories such as playmats.
To combat scalpers and bots, pre-orders on the Riot Games Store will be strictly limited per Riot ID: a maximum of two booster boxes, three Proving Grounds sets, and three of each Champion Deck. Riot Games is also encouraging players to visit their local stores to purchase cards and will provide an interactive map of physical retailers on August 4, in addition to the online pre-orders. As already reported by Sheep Esports, launch events will also be hosted by select stores starting October 31.

Beyond the initial launch, Riot Games is preparing several other products to celebrate the game’s first year. A limited Riftbound x Worlds box is already planned for the end of the year, while a special Arcane English-language box will be available for pre-order at the end of August.
The publisher also announced that it is in talks to expand further into Asia and is working on additional languages for 2026. Riot Games sought to reassure players that, despite high expectations around Riftbound, it has prepared thoroughly and confirmed that the first edition of the TCG will be fully available after pre-orders, even with the anticipated high demand.
