Nongshim RedForce are currently on a ten-game losing streak
On Saturday, August 16, the LCK Round 3-5 opened with KT Rolster widening the gap between themselves and Nongshim RedForce, while DRX moved closer to the top three of the Rise group with a win over. Nongshim are now on a ten-game losing streak — eight of those in the Summer Split — and are still searching for their first best-of-three victory.
There was slight progress as they managed to secure their first game of the split today, but it wasn’t enough to take the series. Meanwhile, DRX ended their three-series losing streak with this win. They now sit just one victory behind OKSavingsbank BRION, who currently hold third place in the group — the final spot that grants access to the LCK Play-In stage.
Six games this Saturday
In their series against Nongshim, Jeong "Peter" Yoon-su returned to the support role to face his former team after being briefly replaced by Han "Way" Gil. The move paid off immediately for KT, as Peter delivered a strong performance on Alistar in Game 1. Alongside him, Seo "deokdam" Dae-gil shined on Sivir, helping the botlane dominate and earning MVP of the series. Nongshim managed to strike back in Game 2, securing their first win of the split, but it wasn’t enough.
KT responded with a commanding Game 3, once again driven by their botlane. Deokdam ended the series with a massive 26/2/20 combined KDA, cementing his role as one of the team’s key carry. The Legend group standings are taking shape, with Gen.G at the top, Hanwha Life Esports and T1 fighting for second place, and KT sitting in fourth — still undefeated against Nongshim so far.
DRX secured their third victory in LCK Round 3-5, with Kang "kyeahoo" Ye-hoo firmly taking over the midlane spot from Son "Ucal" Woo-hyeon. In the Rise Group, the standings are shaping up to be decided in the final series: Dplus KIA are already guaranteed a Play-In spot at 15-10, while DN Freecs are eliminated at 3-23. The three middle teams — FearX, BRION, and DRX — will fight until the end for the remaining Play-In spots, currently standing at 11-15, 9-16, and 8-18, with only two able to advance and keep their playoff hopes alive.
