KT will face Gen.G, FearX go up against DK, and HLE take on T1
KT Rolster successfully dodged the BNK FearX trap this Thursday, September 11, with a solid 3–1 win. In the regular season, KT had finished 4th in the Legend group, while FearX secured 2nd in the Rise group. FearX had impressed in the Play-In stage, taking down both Dplus KIA and Nongshim RedForce in succession.
The playoff bracket is now set: this weekend will open with Gen.G facing KT Rolster, leaving Hanwha Life Esports with the tough task of overcoming T1 on Sunday, both series will give a ticket to Worlds 2025. In the lower bracket, BNK FearX will meet Dplus KIA in the first elimination series of the playoffs on Wednesday, September 17.
Important detail for the rest of the LCK playoff bracket: the losers of KT vs Gen.G and T1 vs HLE both drop to the lower bracket, but not in the same way. For example, if KT and T1 were to lose, KT would fall to lower bracket round 2, where they’d face the winner of FearX vs DK, to then reach the round 3. Meanwhile, T1 would directly enter lower bracket round 3. The rule applied here is based on regular season standings.
One, Two, Three, KT!
The series opened with FearX taking game 1 in dominant fashion, led by another standout performance from Nam "Diable" Dae-geun, the rising star of his team and of the LCK. But KT Rolster quickly turned things around, locking in three straight wins — two of them on red side. In game 2, Seo "deokdam" Dae-gil stepped up to shine, before Moon "Cuzz" Woo-chan’s Sylas completely controlled game 3 with decisive backline teamfights.
In the final game, the long-standing mid-jungle duo of Cuzz and Gwak "Bdd" Bo-seong showed their synergy once more, with Vi and Syndra dismantling FearX. With this 3–1 victory, FearX drop to face DK in the lower bracket, while KT move on to challenge Gen.G.
